The Thermal Belt Habitat for Humanity’s board of directors gives their time, talent and treasures to support our vision of a safe and affordable home for every family.
The board of directors governs by establishing policies, leading our fundraising efforts and setting the strategic direction of the organization.
Our board of directors are hands-on leaders committed to making life better in Polk County and Landrum by providing safe, affordable housing to qualified families regardless of race, religion or background. Our board President has oversight responsibilities for the organization. The Chair, Vice Chairs, Secretary and Treasurer make up the Executive Committee.
Reports & Finances
Families who partner with Habitat for Humanity are extremely grateful for your help. A decent home gives them the strength, stability and independence they need to create a better life for themselves and their families.
Homeowners help build their homes and pay an affordable mortgage.
Thanks to our significant volunteer support, construction costs are kept low and Habitat is able to sell new houses to qualified families with an affordable mortgage. All mortgage (and home repair) payments are recycled back into our building program, creating a perpetual endowment of sorts.
The ReStore and Deconstruction Program also generates sustainable income for our building programs.
